My brother works for the state. He was a highway safety worker. I heard story after story of people he helped in scary situations. Beyond that our roads need all the help they can get. There are so many More....other facets of our state employees that if pushed out of the union would be taken over by lower paid less qualified people who will not be accountable for the quality of their work. They just won't care as much. |

State and local municipal employees are on the front lines of providing services and taking care of people every day. They deserve more respect than this. when will our politicians learn that the problem More....is not public employees, it is greedy corporations and tax cuts for the wealthiest that got us all into this mess? |

One wonders who benefits the most when state jobs are outsourced to private contractors. The concept of a "living wage" seems to be lost on the people we elected to represent us in Springfield. Maybe More....they should be receiving $10 - $14 PER HOUR WITHOUT BENEFITS - which is what they would like state employees to do.
All employees in the state benefit when AFSCME negotiates the contract. When did it become acceptable for the governonr to act without honor? |
