Say no to union-busting. Say no to the Romney-Ryan agenda.
The platform adopted at the Republican National Convention is the most anti-union in history. But it's just the latest example of how Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will devastate the working middle class if they are elected. The Romney-Ryan budget proposal is the "the most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress in modern times" according to the New York Times, though Mitt Romney said that it was "marvelous."
Why?
Because it would raise taxes on the middle class while cutting them for the wealthy. Because it would end Medicare as we know it. And because it would privatize Social Security.
The distinctions between Obama-Biden and Romney-Ryan couldn't be any clearer. President Obama and Vice President Biden are fighting for everyone to have a fair shot at the American Dream. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are plotting a nightmare for middle-class families.

As hardworking public employees, we simply cannot support Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and their anti-union agenda. We provide many of the vital services that their budget looks to cut.
We care for the elderly who rely on the social safety net programs -- Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security -- that Romney-Ryan wishes to privatize or gut.
We help teach the students that would suffer from the Romney-Ryan budget cuts -- all to pay for irresponsible tax cuts for the wealthy.
We fought hard for Obamacare, and Romney-Ryan continues to fight to repeal it.
We know that college and higher education -- like joining a union -- puts our children on the path to the American Dream, and Romney-Ryan wants to eliminate Pell grants for more than 1 million students.
We fight to protect our jobs, and those of our private sector brothers and sisters, but the Romney-Ryan budget would result in 4.1 million job cuts in the first 2 years.
We do all of this, and so much more, as the AFSCME members that make America happen. But there is one thing we will NOT be doing this November 6 -- voting for the Romney-Ryan ticket.
